An agility ladder is a tool commonly used in sports performance training. It’s a mix of quick feet movements with precision and accuracy. We love using the speed ladder for sports performance Training and Next Level Athletics. It can be a very high-intensity movement that also requires control or else you’ll mess up the ladder every time they are doing a drill. The list of ladder drills that we use is very extensive. Drills for sports performance training such as the icky shuffle, ladder sprint, ladder hops, ladder in and outs, etc. we often use our basic movements to work on maximum speed which was moving our feet and often will change up the movement to be something a little bit more complex to make things more difficult like a lot of reach around a lot or twist or a lot of run across. All of these words towards our goal in performance training of not only foot speed but control balance coordination etc.
when performing ladder drills it’s essential to take your time at the start. Doing a ladder drill at a really high-speed wrong or with an extreme amount of errors does not benefit us at all as an athlete. If the goal of the drill is to do a correct and the goal of the drills to be precise if we’re doing a drill and we’re not being for size or we’re not doing it correctly then we’re not gonna get maximal gains out of it. When performing a lot of drove for the first time it’s best to take a slow and walk through the movement get the pattern down get the rhythm down and then push the speed and accuracy to help your overall performance training. In sports performance training your performance trainer should be pushing you to take your time to get the movement down before it’s time to go all out. This is to ensure that not only were doing the drill right but we’re getting the maximum benefit from the trail. With everything we do very much in sports performance training we need to be sure that we’re doing things properly to maximize the goal of those things. As an athlete who stresses level on their body is already high we need to be sure that we’re not adding unnecessary stress to the body by performing drills wrong over time that is going to give us the benefit that we want we need to be sure the drills that we are doing are maximizing every ounce of athleticism possible as to not uselessly overwork the body. Agility ladders are fantastic for sports training. They serve a place in every sports performance training facility and they serve a place in your workout routines. Making sure we’re doing a variety and making sure we’re doing it right is essential to be sure that we’re maximizing our performance training.
