Well, the goal of most serious high school athlete is to play at the collegiate level and as high as possible at the collegiate level some thoughts need to be put in play so do you make sure that your sports performance training and your overall training is mirroring what it is you’re gonna have to see in the future. As to be expected college athletics are severely different than high school athletics everything from practice to your strength and conditioning to your sports performance training to your free time and so on. I always encourage athletes to increase the workload while in high school get used to a heavier workload responsibly while in sports performance training to prepare themselves the best they can for what is to come in college. Call Jack Lenix is a different beast and then high school but if you’re prepared it won’t sneak up on you and you’ll be ready for the challenge. I’ve had many athletes that are transitioning from high school to college that I’ve come to me the summer before put in an excessive amount of work and thus when they went to college I was told that it was easy in comparison to the workload that they had done prior. This is what you want! Once you get to college you have to prove to your team and your coaches that you deserve to be there not that you have what it takes to be there. If you can show that your physical fitness and physical capabilities are exactly where they need to be and there’s no question that you’re going to prove on that front that you deserve to be there. The same applies to skill work you need to be sure that your skills are up to par and that you’ve done the skills that will be necessary for you in college. If you have been there and done that when it comes to sports performance training and skill training then the step to college athletics becomes relatively easy. I’ve done a responsibly increase in your overall workload will set you up for success when it comes to skill and sports performance training in college. Don’t get caught with your pants on the ground and do the work you need to beforehand so that way the transition is easy. I train freshmen in high school who are working out at the level of college athletes right now and because of that when it comes their time to go and perform in college they’re gonna have a very easy transition because they were used to a heavy workload for four years. When I say heavy workload I don’t mean that we’re overworking and we’re working out four times a day what I’m saying is we have a consistent workout schedule and training schedule that allows for proper rest but also makes the bodywork every week.
